Synopsis for "Mind of it's Own"

Synopsis.

The opening scene to a thriller movie is called “Mind of it’s Own” and it is based on a story about a mysterious mask that controls a person’s mind when someone wears it. The mask's makes people do strange and crazy things. The mask was previously worn by a young man who ended up killing his family. The mask is found mysteriously hanging on the tree, we see a young teenage guy walking down the alley way near his school on the phone, and he notices the mask which is a typical mask you would expect to see people wear on halloween. He is attracted to the mask and picks it up not knowing the danger the mask can bring to his future.  The young teenager Josh played by Sintieh is on his way to meet up with his girlfriend Sarah after her revision class in school.  Josh goes into the school toilets and puts the mask on, when he puts the mask on he starts shaking and it is like his being transformed into something strange and being controlled by something greater than him, he then falls to the ground.  The opening scene ends with him he attacking a student who is walking down the hallway.

Premilinary Excercise

Friday, 1 October 2010

3.1- What I learnt by doing the preliminary excercise.

During the filming excercise I learnt a few new things. One of the major new things I learnt was how to use a camera. Before we started the excercise we learnt how to use and camera as we were not familiar with using it. When we started the filming I picked up a few things regarding how to use the camera, the lighting and son on.

In my group was Celine, Veronica, Stephie and me. We had to take out different roles Celine came up with the shot list, Veronica was incharge of the sound and Stephie was incharge of editing are two minute preliminary excercise, and I was incharge of the camera. So we had to learn how to make sure that we understood our roles and to take them out. As the camera woman I had to learn how to use the camera and work out what type of shots would be very suitable for our short drama.

Firstly I got familiar with the camera and came up with the storyboard which made it very easy to make it clear how I wanted my shots to be and come out. When we first started we had a few problems as any group would but after many takes and as we learnt more and became more familiar to it, the premliminary excercise came out exactly how we wanted it.
