Premilinary Excercise

  1. This is a good result for a group who had never picked up a camera or seen editing software before! Well done. There are a good variety of shots and they are edited together to give the right information and make the meaning of the sequence clear.

Some of the shots, such as the over-the-shoulder shot could be framed much more tightly. The technique of zooming in and out to emulate a drug addict's narrow focus is a creative shot, which could be used to great effect. It looks messy because you didn't cut at the end of this but continued with a long take which panned left to another character. This piece is Level 2 filming and editing, showing basic skills. With practice, more time and careful planning for the main construction, I'm sure you will produce a proficient range of shots and much tighter editing.
